Information For Specific Groups

Students
View ' COVID-19: Return to Campus Safety Video (for Students)' before you return to campus.
- Zoning restrictions was lifted from 6 December 2020. This includes the lifting of microzoning in the hostels. Please refer to SDPPVO Circular 47/20.
- Students who do not come to campus need not declare their temperature on the system. However, students are strongly advised to monitor their own health and temperature at least once daily.
- Students who come to campus must declare their health and temperature status before they arrive on campus.
- All students staying in hostels must declare their health and temperature status twice a day including days that they are staying off campus.
- Exemption of Health and Temperature Declaration: Students must apply or reapply for the exemption for the declaration. Last semester's exemptions for health and temperature declarations have been voided. Students may seek fresh exemptions if they have legitimate reasons.
- Declaration of the health status of my household members: If student, or any member of their household, is showing symptoms of COVID-19 and/or having fever, the student should not come to campus for 3 days. They are to seek medical attention immediately and report their condition and the doctor's diagnosis/confirmation of the sick person to their department offices/academic supervisors and wait for further instruction.

- From 2 November 2020, students may return to campus on any day, regardless of whether they have classes.
- Hybrid face-to-face (F2F) and/or online learning modes will be offered for modules that are opted by students, international students who have not arrived at NUS or students who are serving a Quarantine Order, Stay Home Notice or Leave of Absence, regardless of class size.
- To keep classrooms safe, only students who are shown to be fit for class in the Classroom Attendance System may attend face-to-face classes. Being fit means having made a health and temperature declaration and having a "Green Pass" in NUSafe. Students are required to register their attendance using the given QR code. Photographs will be taken to record where students are seated to facilitate contact tracing. All attendees must don face masks and sit at least 1 meter apart.
- Wearing of face masks is mandatory by law. In general, face masks cannot be replaced by face shields. Please refer to following MOH link https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/guidance-for-use-of-masks-and-face-shields.
- Students who are coming to campus are to wear masks when they leave their homes, and at all times when they are on campus. Students residing in hostels must wear masks once they leave their hostel rooms.
- Masks must be worn at all times on campus, except when eating or drinking; having teleconferencing or doing home-based learning alone in a room or in the office; student inside his/her own hostel room; while engaging in strenuous exercises
- You may come back to campus for Co-curricular Activities (CCA)

Research Staff
Research Staff refers to Research Fellows, Research Assistants, PhD students, MSc (Research) students and research-active Laboratory Technologists.
All staff must attend the compulsory online training module OSHGEN11: COVID-19 Return-to-Workplace Training before returning to campus.
Starting on the coming Monday, 17 Aug, research staff can return to campus when they require, while observing all safe distancing measures. They will no longer need to follow the shift schedules, provided the following guidelines are followed:
- The PI, or the person in charge of the research space, should take all necessary steps to prevent overcrowding by ensuring that the environment allows for safe distancing according to government guidelines.
- Depending on the available space and the layout, this may require PIs to enforce a limit on the number of people working in the space at any one time. PIs should keep records of their individual plans and declare these to their Faculty/Institute.
- Wear face masks at all times.
- Continue to declare health and temperature before going to campus
- The lifting of zone restriction was announced in OSHE Circular No 28, Dated 31 October 2020, Para 1.b.
- Avoid crowds at canteens and take-away whenever possible. When canteen capacity is at 100%, staff who has just arrived at or near the canteen, their NUSafe Pass will show Red. This is to deter staff from patronising the canteen when it is at full capacity. Staff should continue to connect to NUS Wi-Fi at the canteen to maintain the Green Pass obtained.
Academic Staff
All staff must attend the compulsory online training module OSHGEN11: COVID-19 Return-to-Workplace Training before returning to campus.
- Wearing of face mask is mandatory.
- Face shield cannot be worn in lieu of face mask when conducting face-to-face lessons unless they are not able to due to special needs or medical conditions. Face shield can be worn in addition to the face mask.
- Must remain in a fixed position and maintain a safe distance of at least 2m away from any other persons.
Academic staff are allowed to return to campus whenever they require. They must:
- Declare their health and temperature status before going to campus,
- Observe all safe distancing measures,
- Wear masks in public places and when interacting with colleagues face to face, and
- Avoid crowds at canteens and taking food back to the office to eat, whenever possible. When canteen capacity is at 100%, staff who has just arrived at or near the canteen, their NUSafe Pass will show Red. This is to deter staff from patronising the canteen when it is at full capacity. Staff should continue to connect to NUS Wi-Fi at the canteen to maintain the Green Pass obtained.
Executive And Administrative Staff
- The lifting of zone restriction was announced in OSHE Circular No 28, Dated 31 October 2020, Para 1.b.
- The split team arrangement will no longer be enforced in Phase 3. However, the arrangement will continue for critical university functions such as campus security, campus infrastructure, NUS IT and senior management.
- Working-from-home and online classes will continue to be an option for those who are vulnerable or living with vulnerable family members.
- Once-a-day health and temperature status declaration is to be done before entering campus.
- Avoid crowds at canteens and take food back to the office to eat, whenever possible. When canteen capacity is at 100%, staff who has just arrived at or near the canteen, their NUSafe Pass will show 'Red'. This is to deter staff from patronising the canteen when it is at full capacity. Staff should continue to connect to NUS Wi-Fi at the canteen to maintain the Green Pass obtained.
