Workshop on Safety & Crisis Planning & Management For
Student Leaders
This workshop will
equip student leaders of clubs, societies, halls &
residences with the knowledge on how to assess risks,
formulate and implement safety & crisis management plans. It
will help them to plan and conduct their events/activities
locally as well as overseas successfully and safely. It will
be conducted by experienced staff from the Emergency
Management Division, Office of Safety, Health & Environment.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
-
Singapore Workplace Safety & Health Act (WSHA) and it's
effect on NUS students' activities
-
NUS Crisis & Emergency Management Framework
- Safety & Emergency Planning Approach
- Safety Considerations in organizing activities/events
- Safety Management Planning
- Crisis Management Planning
- Summary Exercise (basing on respective students'
groups/clubs activities)
This workshop will be a half day (04 hours) session,
conducted in the morning from 9 am to 1 pm. The 2010 course

The workshop capacity for each session is 18 participants
and the venue will be at No 2 Prince George's Park. Each
participant will be issued a Certificate of Participation
upon successfully completing the training.
